This is a classic, located on Horley Street Ipoh, GPS : 4.597642, 101.082628. This place was move several times until it is at this place now. In the early 70's I frequent belakang loken till late 80's.. most people from Ipoh call it "Belakang Loken" the name derived from it's being at the back alley of Lam Looking Bazaar and yes! the building actually named as
Lam Looking Bazaar as it was embossed on the wall and upstairs is the Perak emporium department store.
Late 80's or early 90's they move the vendors to People's Park (Taman Persisiran Ipoh or Ipoh Riverfront) this probably in line with Ipoh getting it city status in 1988. What a shame. it was a lively back alley, with medicine pedlar, tools seller and old junk sales abound.
