Cardinal Military Style Watch

This watch came in for overhaul and timing calibration, it is a Vintage Cardinal Military Style men watch. I had no idea how old is it.

This watch is made by Wotag Trading Company Inc using Universal Geneve Caliber UG D320

Military style dial but has no Second hand, a bit odd for a Military Style watch.

As marking it is a hand wind UG D 320 one jewel, could it be Universal Geneve movement.

Strip down will follows

All parts strip and in working order, just some rust on screws and few levers, Case needs buffing and polishing and glass will be replace. Dial I will leave it as is, it is very expensive to get the dial redo.

Spring okay, at first I though it was broken. After removing it from the barrel to take measurements, I found it in good order.

Assemble and lubricated movement under test.

Dial installed and checking time for accuracy.

They are design to be disposable and not repairable.. just pure dogshit !!!!

Got this scrapper from the flea market with damage escape wheel, this my first watch repair project. Ordered one escape wheel from ebay and after a very long wait got it, and the watch is done and ticking fine.

I disassemble the watch to learn its mechanism and as a general practice on watch making.
